I do not even color my hair
I want to be clear that I am not a hair-dye person. I have maybe a dozen grays at each temple and they catch the light in every photo. I assumed a root product would be overkill for that and it is not - I dab twice on each side and they are gone. It comes out in the shower. How does it work?
Two formulas in one stick. Twist the cream end and press the sponge tip onto the roots or the part line - the cream carries the pigment and grips both the hair and the scalp underneath, which is where the gray actually shows. Then flip the stick and press the powder end over the same spot to set it.
Build it up rather than laying it on. Two light passes look like hair. One heavy pass looks like makeup.
Will it still be there at 6pm?
For most people yes, but only if you set it. The most common reason it wears off early is skipping the powder end, which is easy to do when the cream already looks right and you are in a hurry.
Two things help on a long day: press rather than rub, and give it a minute before you brush through. If your scalp runs oily, a light mist of hairspray after the powder holds it noticeably longer. It is made to come out in the shower, so it will not survive a workout you sweat through.
How long does one stick actually last?
It depends entirely on how much of your head you are covering. Touching up temples and a part line a few times a week, most people get around a month from one stick. Covering a fully grown-out root line every single day goes through it faster - closer to two or three weeks.
That is the honest range, and it is why the multi-packs exist. If you are using it daily, buying one at a time means reordering constantly.
Which end is the cream and which is the powder?
The cream end has the smoother, slightly darker sponge and looks faintly damp. The powder end is dry and dustier, and it leaves a soft puff if you tap it.
If you cannot tell, tap each end once on the back of your hand: cream leaves a solid mark you can smudge, powder leaves a dusty one that brushes away. Do that once and you will not need to check again. Plenty of people put a dot of nail polish on the cream cap and never think about it.
What is inside
A pigmented cream on one end and a pressed setting powder on the other, both matched to the shade you pick. No dye, no ammonia, no peroxide and no developer - nothing that changes your actual hair color. It sits on the hair and scalp and washes out.

A part line that does not announce itself
The gray is only half of it. What actually shows in a photograph is the scalp - a widening part, thin patches at the temples, the pale line that reads from across a room.

Questions people ask before ordering
How does it cover gray without any dye?
It does not change your hair, it sits on it. The cream deposits pigment onto the hair shaft and the scalp beneath, and the powder locks that pigment in place. There is no developer, no ammonia and no processing time - which is also why it comes out in the shower rather than growing out over months.
How long does it take, and will anyone be able to tell?
About twenty seconds a side once you have done it twice. The mistake that makes it obvious is going heavy on the first pass - a flat block of solid color reads as makeup. Two light passes with a moment between them looks like hair, because you are letting some of your own texture show through.
How do I apply it, and does it work with dry shampoo or hairspray?
Dry hair, cream first, powder second. It goes on after dry shampoo, not before - dry shampoo underneath makes the cream skid instead of grip.
Hairspray over the top is fine and actually helps it hold. Do not run a hot iron directly over a spot you have just done; let it set, and iron the lengths instead.
I have tried a root spray. Why is this different?
The complaint about sprays is almost never the coverage - it is everything around it. The cloud that lands on your face and the mirror, the stiffness afterwards, the fact that you cannot do a precise half inch at the temple without doing the whole side of your head.

Which shade do I pick, and what if I get it wrong?
Five shades: Blonde, Taupe, Medium Brown, Dark Brown and Black. Match your lengths, not your roots - it is blending into the hair around the gray, not replacing it.
