For the reflux you feel in your throat, not your chest

A 2 mL dropper of slippery elm, marshmallow root, alginate and DGL. Once a day, before a meal.

  • Not an antacid: it coats rather than neutralizes, so it is not doing the same job as whatever is already in your cabinet.
  • Coats on the way down: slippery elm, marshmallow root and alginate form a film in the throat itself, where a capsule only opens once it reaches the stomach.
  • 2 mL, once, before a meal: under the tongue or stirred into water. Nothing to swallow when swallowing is the part that hurts.
  • Twelve actives in one dropper: DGL, zinc L-carnosine, L-glutamine, NAG and hyaluronic acid - the stack most people build out of four separate bottles.

Bottled in small batches so the mucilage stays thick.

Took three weeks but it went quiet

I clear my throat constantly. Have done for years, to the point where my daughter mimics me at the dinner table. I did not expect a dropper to touch it and for the first fortnight it did not, so I had more or less written it off. Somewhere in week three I realized I had driven the whole way to work without doing it once. That was the morning I went back and ordered two more.

The coughing at night

My wife bought it and I was not interested, if I am honest. I was waking up two or three times a night coughing and she was waking up every time with me, which was the part that bothered me most. I take it before bed now. It is not gone completely and I am not going to say it is, but I slept through Tuesday to Saturday last week and that has not happened in a long time.

I can feel it working, which is odd

It is thick, a bit like a very mild syrup, and you can actually feel it coat on the way down, which I was not expecting from something this small. That first night I took it after a curry and the burn simply did not arrive the way it normally does about an hour later. I have kept taking it before dinner ever since. The taste is nothing much either way, which I count as a win.

Four of the twelve actives are film formers - slippery elm bark mucilage, marshmallow root, sodium alginate and DGL. Mixed with saliva they thicken into a soft gel that stays put on the way down. That is the part you feel.

Underneath sit the ones that do not coat: zinc L-carnosine, L-glutamine, N-acetyl glucosamine and hyaluronic acid, which support the tissue itself, plus quercetin, chondroitin, aloe vera and vitamin D3.

Some people feel nothing. We would rather say that here than have you find out in week three.

It is a coating, so the people it suits are the ones whose problem is irritation - the raw throat, the clearing, the cough. If you have had it badly for years, a dropper may not be enough on its own, and one of the most useful things you can do is take that to your own doctor. Finish the bottle, and if it did nothing the 60-day guarantee is there.

Fair question, and someone always asks it.

Citric acid is in there as a preservative, in the trace amounts at the end of the other-ingredients list, not as an active. For scale, a squeeze of lemon in water carries far more. The film formers are the ones present in tens of milligrams. If you are unusually sensitive to acidic foods, take it in water rather than neat.

People here usually are taking something, and nothing on this page is a reason to change that. Keep taking anything you have been prescribed.

Practically: leave a gap of about half an hour either side of other medication, because a coating layer is exactly the kind of thing that can slow how something else is absorbed. Your own doctor or pharmacist knows what you are on and is the right person to ask.

Most people here came for the throat, not the heartburn.

Twelve actives, and four of them are just there to coat

Most digestive supplements are a nutrient list. This one is two things at once. Slippery elm bark mucilage, marshmallow root, sodium alginate and DGL are chosen because they thicken - they turn into a soft film that stays on the tissue instead of washing straight past it. Underneath them sit zinc L-carnosine, L-glutamine, N-acetyl glucosamine and hyaluronic acid, which are there for the lining rather than the surface. It is the combination that is unusual, not any single name on the label.

The symptom people actually name is the throat

Ask someone with reflux what bothers them and they rarely say heartburn. They say they clear their throat all day and it never stays clear. They say they cough at night, or their partner does the noticing. They say there is something stuck that will not go. That is the group this was built around, which is why it is a liquid that coats on the way down rather than a tablet aimed at the stomach. Reflux is the situation you are already in. This is for the throat it leaves behind.

A dropper, because swallowing is the problem

There is something absurd about treating a raw throat with a hard capsule. This is 2 mL from a marked dropper, once a day, and you can take it straight under the tongue or stir it into a little water. Most people take it before dinner. If the night cough is the thing, before bed suits better. One 60 ml bottle is thirty servings, so a bottle is a month, and nothing about it needs planning around.

Two o'clock in the morning, twice

The night cough is the thing people here describe most, and it is the reason some of them take it before bed rather than before dinner. Same room, same hour, illustrated - not a photograph of a result, because reflux does not have one you can photograph. What buyers reported is that the waking got less, and twice it was a partner who noticed before they did. Around week three, for many people, not for everyone.

What to expect

What buyers told us they noticed, and roughly when.

Day 1
You feel it coat going down - it is thicker than you expect. A few buyers said the burn after dinner eased that same evening. Not everyone feels anything on day one.
Days 3-5
The rawness after meals stops being the sharp kind. Many people notice it first as dinner not being something they brace for.
Week 2
You clear your throat less. This is the week buyers ordered a second bottle, which is the most honest signal in the whole set.
Week 3
The night cough settles for many people. Twice it was a partner who noticed before they did.
Week 4
The bottle is empty. Thirty servings, thirty days - this is where you decide whether it earned its place on the shelf.
Ongoing
The film is a daily thing, not a course you finish. Stop and the coating stops with it, which is the whole reason the 3 and 5 month sizes exist.

What people say

4.8 average from 4,800 people

Third bottle. I stopped noticing my throat, which is the point.

Marilyn K.

Take it before bed. That is the one that made the difference for me.

D. Osei

Thick, faintly sweet, gone in a second. I mix mine into water.

Rob T.

It did not fix everything but the after-dinner hour is a lot easier.

Questions

A capsule has to reach your stomach before it opens. If your problem is the throat, everything in it has already gone past the part that hurts. A liquid coats on the way down, which is the whole reason this is a dropper.

Some people feel the coating on day one and a few said the after-dinner burn eased that same evening. More often it is days three to five before meals stop being sharp, and week two before the throat clearing drops off. Week three is where the night cough settled for most people who reported it. If you have felt nothing by the end of the bottle, it probably is not your answer.

2 mL once a day, straight under the tongue or stirred into a little water. Before a meal for most people; before bed if the night cough is the thing you want handled. Leave about half an hour either side of other medication.

Slippery elm on its own is one mucilage at whatever dose the capsule carried. Here it is 80 mg alongside marshmallow root, sodium alginate and DGL - four film formers rather than one - and it is already liquid, so it does not have to dissolve before it can coat anything. Whether that difference matters for you is a fair thing to test on one bottle.

Email us within 60 days and we refund it, opened bottle included. We would rather you finished it and told us than left it in a drawer. It does not suit everyone and we are not going to pretend otherwise.

He slept through

I bought this for my husband, who coughed every night for most of last winter. Three weeks in he slept through without waking once. He has not said anything about it, which is how I know it is working.

Not clearing my throat any more

Twenty years of clearing my throat. My wife counts it. Two weeks on this and she said I had not done it all evening. I did not believe her so I paid attention the next day. She was right.

The curry test

I take it before dinner. Had a takeaway on the Friday, the kind that normally has me sitting up half the night, and it just did not come. One meal is not proof but I have had four weeks of it now.

Works, dropper is annoying

It has helped - less of that stuck feeling, and I am not reaching for chalky tablets after lunch. My gripe is the dropper. It does not reliably fill to the 2 mL line and I end up squeezing twice. Small thing but for the money I would expect better.

Bought it for the label

I read ingredient lists. DGL, slippery elm, zinc L-carnosine and NAG in one bottle is what got me, because I was buying three of those separately. It has done what I hoped on the throat, and it is one bottle now instead of three.
